Vintage Amps – 17 Vintage Amps – 130 Files – 152 megs

The Convology XT Library of Vintage Amps is really second to none, with 17 different physical vintage amps being sampled.
Vintage amps and cabinet impulse response files, in general, tend to be an EQ response rather than a spatial response, although, many of these amps came with spring reverb units with all of those being sampled, in this library, along with Tone Control, Bass, Treble, Mid with varying intensity, etc. Vibrato and Tremolo are generally handled through software emulations, rather than
impulse response capture by the nature of those functions, much like Chorus and Flange are real time processing based and not recorded over a set period of time, like a reverb or delay is. In other words, a reverb or a delay is not finite (there’s a
start and there’s an end) and so the impulse response can be taken within an “acoustical snap shot” from start to finish.

This library is full of prized amps made popular through the years by many legendary guitar players and also includes rare and creative gems not seen in most impulse response convolution library offerings. These cabinet impulse response files, coupled with many built in vintage spring verb units, is truly one of a kind.

General Overview
Every plate varies according to how it’s been tuned, so there are virtually no two plates exactly alike, even when made by the
same company and then given years of use and in some cases “stored” and/or reconditioned and re-tuned. In addition, the
condition of drivers, pickups, the addition of upgrades made to a plate unit, along with the audio paths to and from each piece
of gear, can and obviously do play a heavy roll in final sound and impulse response capture.

Convology XT was years in the making and is an incredible collection of 126 pieces of vintage studio outboard gear.  From 17 Different Physical Plates, 80s & 90s DSPs, Spring Reverbs, Tape Delays, Vintage German DSPs, Vintage Amps and misc gear all preserved in 96/24 resolution.

The plug-in features an easy to use interface to browse through the libraries, allowing the user to quickly step through presets and audition on the fly while the music is playing. Despite being free, Convology XT is a world class vintage convolution reverb, created for the cherished vintage sounding reverb for studio engineers and music producers, with CPU efficient processing, low latency and zero latency modes, max IR length of 2M samples (40 sec at 48 kHz), support for WAV and AIF files, and modulation. There are also extensive IR modification functions, including stretch, decay time scaling, EQ, frequency-dependent decay time scaling, time reverse, and amplitude envelope. And a cool UI with real time spectrum, time display, and images of the vintage gear.
